Time Of Trouble Coming

Letter by EGW

“…Over and over, the message has been given to me that we are not to say one word, not to publish one sentence, especially by way of personalities, unless positively essential in vindicating the truth, that will stir up our enemies against us, and arouse their passions to a white heat. Our work will soon be closed up, and soon the time of trouble, such as never was, will come upon us, of which we have little idea…”. Counsels to Writers and Editors, p. 60.1 (Ellen Gould White)

Editor: An Adventist who believes William Miller’s understanding of Daniel 12:1 was 1,260 years between 538 and 1798 needs to be readjusted. Why is Ellen writing about a future “time of trouble, such as never was?” Ellen corrected the SDA Church’s view of Daniel 12:1, but the Church will not believe or follow its own Prophet.

The following letter Ellen sent to Eli Curtis has some critical details. She wrote in 1847 that William Miller’s Great Tribulation in Daniel 12:1 was yet to come, and Michael (Jesus) had not yet stood up to protect his people, which he will do as written in Rev 12:14-17. If you go to the Early Writings chapter at the end of the 2300 Days, you will see these events that will take place in the last days. It is impossible to read this chapter today and not see a future application. I have cut and pasted only parts of this letter.

Topsham, April 21, 1847.

To Brother Eli Curtis, New York City.

Dear Bro: In the Day-Dawn, Vol. 1, Numbers 10 and 11, you kindly invite me to address you a communication.

The only apology I have to offer for not writing before is, I have not had a clear duty to write till now. You will, I doubt not, excuse me for addressing you so publicly, at this time. I have been much interested in your writings in the Dawn, and Extra; and fully agree with you on some points, but on others we widely differ.

You think, that those who worship before the saint’s feet, (Rev. 3:9) will at last be saved. Here I must differ with you; for God shew me that this [Chart D:] class were professed Adventists, who had fallen away, and “crucified to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” [Chart F:] And in the “hour of temptation,” which is yet to come, to show out every one’s true character,..You also think that Michael stood up, and the time of trouble commenced in the spring of 1844. The Lord has shown me in vision, that [Chart E:] Jesus rose, shut the door, and entered the Holy of Holies, at the 7th month 1844; but Michael’s standing up to deliver his people is in the future.”

Editor Notes: When Michael stands up, the Father has already left His Throne in the Holy City. The Bride of 144,000 has been sealed upon their foreheads. When the Almighty Judge departs the courtroom, the door is shut, and no man can open it. In the sanctuary of the Holy City, the Father and Jesus sit side by side. When they move from Throne A to Throne B in the Most Holy, the door is already shut. Now, man is without an intercession for sin. Daniel 9:27 tells us that Jesus’ work in the Sanctuary in the Holy City stops. The last and final fulfillment of the Antichrist – Man of sin will stand in the holy place – the Apostate Roman Church (Great Whore) – the last Roman ‘Little Horn” will be actively doing great evil. The hour of temptation is the test that is coming upon all the World it is not a test we must pass to be saved or not saved. That has already been sealed, and no names have been added or removed from the Book of Life. Above, we see this test is to show every man’s character. The nominal Adventists and other Christians, if not in the Book of Life, will not be able to stand this test. Daniel chapter 11 tells us the Father has promised a little help if you’re in the Book of Life. The Bride had passed the worship test and almost missed the 3rd Angle’s message. Still, with fixed eyes on Jesus, the Bride bowed down and accepted the 3rd Angle’s message when the Holy Spirit was poured out when the tribulation began (see shocking visions in the blog post). The door was still open for the first 3.5 years until the bride’s number was complete.

Continuing with Ellen’s letter to Eli…

…This will be the time of Jacob’s trouble, (Jer. 30:5-8), out of which, the saints will be delivered by the voice of God…”

Editor Notes: Jacob’s Trouble is when a death decree is signed by authorities to kill those who they believe are making God angry, and they want those who are living to die so the plagues will stop. The religious believe this remnant is the cause of all their problems. First, who are the Saints alive at the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble?” Answer: Only the Bride, numbered 144,000, is promised to go through alive and not be killed. When is this period of Jacob’s Trouble? Answer: During the last 3.5 years or 42 months or 1,260 days. How long will this period of Jacob’s Trouble? Answer: The death decree is signed only for 30 days/nights (see Dan 6:7). When will these 30 days/nights end? Answer: On the appointed Summer Feast Day, called the Feast of Weeks appointed when 3,000 were killed by the Levites. Also, in the New Testament, the day in the Upper Room when the Holy Spirit poured out saved 3,000 on the summer feast day. Also, by Ellen’s vision on that same summer feast date on Chart C:. And at the end of Jacob’s Trouble – end of 2520 days/nights – end of Daniel 12:1 – end of Great Tribulation Matt 24:21 – end of the 2300th day. The Bride of 144,000 was only appointed protection for 1,260 days in Rev 12:14. That protection ends when the tribulation ends. So Ellen White gave us in her first prophetic vision a picture of only Jesus and the 144,000 left standing at the end of the pathway. We wrote the 144,000 hear the voice from heaven say the day and hour of the Advent. Also, she wrote that their faces were lit up like Moses’s on that same day. Why? Because the Bride, for 42 months, prayed to the Father in the Most Holy to send the Holy Spirit. Their prayers alone allowed them to follow Jesus into the Most Holy Place. Now, we see wicked people trying to hurt them; this time, they don’t have angels surrounding them. The Anointing is so powerful that the evil can’t stand in their presence, as written in Rev. 3:9.

“…I believe the Sanctuary, to be cleansed at the end of the 2,300 days, is the New Jerusalem Temple, of which Christ is a minister…”

Editor Notes: Does the SDA Church teach that the Sanctuary was cleansed at the end of the 2,300 days in 1844? Nope! What Ellen is saying here is that on the last day, Jesus is working in the Temple’s Most Holy; on the 2300th day of Danie’s Prophecy, Satan will take on all the forgiven sins upon his head, and then an Angel will take him away to a wilderness, a place on Earth, where he will be out of the way.

Many may question the special resurrection. My focus is not on that group; Jesus told people they would witness his arrival when he returned. He said it, I believe it, and that is good enough for me. Ellen also said a group would be raised to see Jesus coming that is not part of the 144,000. No problem. I will never tell Father or Jesus what they will do. That would not be very wise.
